I knew very early on that I was different. I had a very deep passion for helping people and for making the an impact in the world. Now, if I could make money doing that would be great, but most of all, I just wanted to serve and help.
I jumped around from job to job in college and as a newly married gal...and I was always looking for something. I tried so many work at home jobs, and even though they paid me ok--I still was very unsatisfied. It was then that stumbled on entrepreneurship. I was bit by the bug and I have never looked back. I love it!
Even though it is challenging sometimes, it really is also the most rewarding and I started my online baby boutique with Etsy in April of 2009. And since then I have had a product business, a service business, a coaching business and a network marketing business. So I think it’s safe to say I have tried it ALL. And with each one of those experiences there was always one thing that I struggled with...and that was the marketing piece.
It was hard because there were so many moving parts and pieces to it, but also I didn’t like it. I didn’t want to feel like I had to force people into anything, or force them to buy something. It always made me feel “icky.”
Well, one of the days when I feel particularly frustrated and overwhelmed with my 4 kids saying “mommy,” “mommy” for the 20th time, and I wanted to just curl up in a ball and quit because it was just to much. I made the decision then and there that I wasn’t going to let things like marketing, or mothering, or whatever was thrown at me determine my life. I decided then and there to be more intentional about the time I was spending “working” and the time I was spending with my kids. To be more intentional with my scripture study and my prayer. Also with my sleep, exercise and eating. To become more ELEVATED in my life in all areas. To break and change the pattern I had in my mind and in my actions.
So I started with one thing. That was getting up every morning at 5am to get my scripture study in. I know that everything starts at the core, and for me--that is God. So I wanted to have my time with God be the first step in my road to recovery from my addiction to doubt, frustration, making excuses, overwhelm, negativity, perfection, pride and so many other things.
I made a decision that I was going to do it for 30 days so that it would become a habit. I am happy to say that I completed that goal. And during that goal, it gave me courage to start getting my 10,000 steps in every day. And I was able to accomplish that for 30 days. And then came my eating, getting better with my mindset, my success in my business and so on. It became a snowball effect. Everything in my life just started getting better...elevating to a new level of “being.” And the results? A happier, more fulfilled, excited joyful existence. Full of magic!
Now I would be lying if I said that I was able to execute everything perfectly--because there were days that I fell off the wagon on all kinds of things. I am human after all. And I am also a mom to 4 thousand kids...so there’s that. lol! But...the point is, because I have been able to establish those habits in my life and business, even when I would fall off for a day...it would make it SO much easier to get back on the horse the next day and keep going...and never give up. Because I was making it part of my muscle memory.
So I want to now help other moms in business see how they can ELEVATE their lives to find more purpose, passion, faith and even profit and live the life they have always wanted to live.
So buckle up! It’s going to be wild ride--but it will be one that will change you forever...if you let it. Be coach-able, follow the system & take action...here we go!
